Exploring the Intersection of Law and Hospitality

30 Apr 2018, by Tipton Law in Law Firm News

The hospitality industry is a vibrant and ever-evolving landscape that encompasses a wide range of businesses, including: hotels, restaurants, bars, resorts, spas and entertainment venues. Within this dynamic field, legal considerations play a crucial role in ensuring compliance, managing risks, and safeguarding both guests and businesses.  The Tipton Law Firm is excited to announce that esteemed attorney Cory Tipton has been tapped to teach Hospitality Law and Risk Management at Metropolitan State University of Denver.

Ms. Tipton explains it best when she says, “Hospitality Law is a mile wide and an inch deep as the subject encompasses a broad range of topics, including: contracts, liability, employment law, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance.”  By providing students the opportunity to delve into these areas of the law, Ms. Tipton will equip students with the necessary legal foundations to navigate the complexities of the hospitality industry.

Risk management is another crucial aspect of hospitality law, aiming to identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks and liabilities that can arise in any hospitality setting. By incorporating risk management strategies into the curriculum, Ms. Tipton will empower future business owners, managers and employees to proactively address and minimize potential legal challenges. This practical knowledge will prove invaluable to future hospitality professionals, enabling them to safeguard their businesses and provide exceptional guest experiences.

Ms. Tipton, who was previously hired at Metropolitan State University of Denver to teach Alcohol Beverage Law, will continue to teach that class while also taking on this new challenge.
