Tipton Law Firm/Water 2 Wine-DTC Furry Scurry Team a Huge Success

10 May 2011, by Tipton Law in Community Service

The 2011 Furry Scurry was at Washington Park this past Saturday, May 7. The Water 2 Wine-DTC/Tipton Law Firm Team came out to the event in force. In fact, this year’s team was so large, the League’s photographers had to take the team photo in two panoramic halves! The team was 63 team members strong and has already raised nearly $17,000.00 for the Dumb Friends’ League. Fundraising continues through June 7, so if you have not already donated, please consider a donation to the Water 2 Wine-DTC/Tipton Law Firm Team in support of the League.

Marcus Tipton, one of the owners of Water 2 Wine-DTC, along with his Assistant General Manager, Carl Corns and Master Vintner, Michael Anderson were all in attendance with various customers and Wine Club members from the winery. In addition, Denver business lawyer, Cory Tipton, along with Denver’s premier Gaming Law Attorney, John Tipton, and other members of The Tipton Law Firm, including Robert Runco and Stacey Schalk, both contract attorneys with the Firm were all walking with their dogs. Other members of the team included local business leaders like Brian Hart, Owner of Frame de Art, and Dede Schuringa, Owner of Chef Dede Davinci Catering.

Furry Scurry 2011Representatives from both the law firm and Water 2 Wine-DTC worked tirelessly for the past 3 ½ months to build this year’s Furry Scurry Team and raise money for the League. “We’re not done yet,” said Cory Tipton the Vice-President of the Firm and one of the team’s captains; “in 2009 our team was 33 members strong, and raised nearly $8,000.” Cory went on to say, “2010 was a tough year, the team was about the same size as in 2010 and raised just a little less than the year before.” Carl Corns, Assistant Team Captain, noted that this year started off really slow for the team, “finances are still very tight and people are thinking longer and harder about how they give” Corns said. However, after the Team’s kick-off party late in March, the announcement of a team silent auction and the excitement that built around great team giveaways for team members who raise certain thresholds of pledges, the momentum really started to gather. The Water 2 Wine-DTC/Tipton Law Firm Team is always known for the great team incentives it provides its hard working team members, as well as the amazing grand prizes for the team’s top fundraisers. This year, as in past years, the Law Firm is opening up its private wine cellars to provide some great incentive items to its participants over the age of 21. In addition, the Firm was pleased to sponsor custom leashes for each of the 2011 Furry Scurry team members, and that was just the beginning. The list of giveaway items is long, impressive and keeps growing. Many local and national businesses have donated giveaway items for the Team After Party which is being held on May 26. Giveaway items for team members include a two night stay at any Hilton property in the Continental United States, two Stay & Play Packages at the Wildwood Casino in Cripple Creek, Colorado, 90-Minute In-Home Dog Training Session, Gift Cards to Frame de Art, Wine & Pet Gift Baskets, $1,000 Toward Estate Planning from The Tipton Law Firm, Gift Cards for Massages from Elements and Bodywork by Amy, Gift Cards to Milano Coffee, Gift Cards to Slam Bar in Greenwood Village, Handmade wood carvings, and more…
